Jules 6×4 – Paris-Dakar 1984
This prototype is actually the second work of Thierry Montcorgé. C & rsquo; is in fact his second wild gamble on the Dakar after successfully participating at the wheel & rsquo; a Rolls-Royce, in 1981 !
At the beginning, this vehicle was designed for the Beijing-Paris that was to organize TSO. This project did not see the day, Thierry From Montcorgé s & rsquo; is folded on the Dakar, but the specifics of his 6×4 were less in line with the Dakar 1984, the entire rear part was to carry a ton of equipment !.
With the & rsquo; using the same sponsors that & rsquo; in 1981, Thierry will build AZ vehicle to six independent wheels, 4 will drive. The top speed is around 200 km / h on track and braking is ensured by 6 dual piston disc.


There will d & rsquo; first the realization of & rsquo; a tubular frame, puis implementing a V8-350 engine Chevrolet Corvette 5,7 L 370 with CVs bridges before and intermediate engines. The last rear axle is about just wearer him. The gearbox is the d & rsquo; a Porsche 935.



The body is a creation TDM. We had to go through the design & rsquo; a wooden skeleton to make Kevlar. For the little story, Prototype Jules carried only champagne on board, and not at all d & rsquo; water ! When & rsquo; he broke down, is the Range No. 295 ISAIA / PICCO LANSAC and which in their left their rations and water !
On his return to France, Jules is purchased by a collector, integrated its collection and kept up & rsquo; the death of one.
