Jaguar XJ Six – 1970
David Campbell, his wife Theresa and their cousin Keith Scott from the city of Dingwall in Scotland recovered a Jaguar XJ6 2.8L from 1970 in very poor condition, but still able to roll.
Part of the body had to be cut to accept the redesigned beam axles (including the original Jaguar axle and four Mini Cooper S front suspensions) and the redesigned steering linkage which was made from heavy LMP end fittings and necessary flat bar parts for steering arms, etc.
New fiberglass wings have been reworked to form the new wings covering the 4 front wheel and spoiler, and the original cover has been modified to accept a Vauxhall VX4 grille / 90. The rear of the car is designed to receive a one-piece brake light
The Jaguar has four Supaslots Cobra 5 rims×10, of two thrush side tubes of 70 ” for Autoplas tailpipes and rear visor.
The car was built for a double purpose :
- Having an unusual car
- Advertise our auto accessories store and our exhaust and equipment services.
Seeing the success of this first Jaguar, they planned to repeat the same operation on a production Jaguar coupe 2 which would have received a setting on the dynamic suspension on the rear wheels and wider hoops, but apparently this version was never created.
It's been since 2006 that I had this unique color photo, and completely by chance that came across this 2nd image on http://lecontainer.blogspot.com with some explanations !
