Jaguar type and by John C Piper – Oslo 1983
As usual as soon as this photo of a six-wheeled Jaguar Type e appeared on the Internet in 2018, I kept it in my files, then I patiently waited for the sequel…
It's the name of the file that tells who she is, a Jaguar Type e at 6 wheels mounted in V12.
It’s in October 2019, in the facebook of one of my contacts that I found the 2nd photo, with a man named Eirik Bøle, who is the owner of this Jaguar Type f as he likes to say… “This f-Type was produced 30 years before the Jaguar factory decides to create it” !
We recognize the rear of a Jaguar Type e Coupé anyway. The front is more personal, retracting headlights and front axle type P34.
A priori it is in his private collection, in Oslo Norway.
Then I'll wait again until March 2022 to receive a new photo by email, indeed Muayad Khalid Ali took a photo of the Jaguar in a garage in Oslo, then looked for the car on the internet and he came across my article, He sent me this photo.
Despite me, I don't know how the next email got here, our photographer who returned to the garage ? Anyway, the second owner of the car contacted me and we managed to exchange a few emails until April 2022.
And we learn a lot, it was Mr. John C Piper who created this Jaguar in England, I don't know what year yet, and it was his daughter who owned it.
She sold it to Rune Larsen who in his time wished to continue the work and reflections of his father, he repositioned and turned the engine over 180 °, fabricated the transfer cases and installed a separate oil lubrication system, he then rotated the gearbox under the engine, also rebuilt the oil pan. All this work has been done, because he wanted the engine block and gearbox to be as compact as possible, in the middle of the car, and further back.
So, as you understood, it is a mid-engine V12 fuel-injected car.
If he was still the owner, he would certainly have installed too 6 Weber and 2 turbos.
Rune promised to send me pictures of the mechanics if he gets his hands on it.
If come across this fabulous car, do not hesitate to take lots of photos and then send them to me on marc@sixmania.fr otherwise leave a comment below.
