Daniel Lebacq – DL7
Daniel Lebacq is Belgian. It was in his time, in the years 1970, a driver specialized autodidact competition in the trays. It is thanks to thie, his son-it is possible for me to present this little page, I let him tell you this fabulous story :
To complete the story , in 1976 after an off with the Lola F5000 (irreparable hull torn because) , in response to a question about the future of the car, my stepfather threw in jest that he was going to do a proto 6 wheels.
In the following weeks, questions about the progress of work, always on the tone of the joke, he answered “it going”. Or, he had never really thought of doing.
At the end of the year, after reflexion , he decided to tackle it and presented the DL7 end 1977 Gent at salon.
In 1978, after downgrade, say “logic” du why Can-Am, the hillclimb championship in proto, he decided to do the last race with the 6 wheels. So the car will roll-Tros Maret.
In winter, for an RTBF broadcast the car will run a little more but the engine would give up the ghost.
In 1979, FIA has banned the use of 6 wheel road racing, the car was dismantled because specific parts Lola (rear axle, box , engine ) were sold.
Currently, I have the strong frame damaged, the front suspensions and a large part of the body. For the future restoration, Furthermore the budget, I need a place where the vehicle will stay several months without moving. So, end of winter, construction of a workshop “special restaurant 6 wheels” and beginning of reconstruction of the end frame 2008.

Daniel rolled in Lebacq 1974 with a proto with V6 Ford, then Torralba, in which 1978 had been fitted with a Cosworth 1600 FVA too powerful for MK9 box , he transferred the mechanics in the former F2 JRD Claude Bourgoignie and had re-bodywork in proto as the Can-Am of the time.
The race continues in the family !
