Norman Bel Geddes - Maitre du design Streamline – 1927
Norman Bel Geddes was born in 1893 from a modest American family, he began his career as a theater set designer in 1915, then in advertising in the years 1920, and will work in particular for the automotive industry.
After some time and some requests, he will turn to industrial design. The big industrial companies of the time regularly called on independent designers to get new opinions.
Norman Bel Geddes will be one of the first post-war designer with Raymond Loewy, Walter Dorwin Teague et Henry Dreyfuss.
In 1927 he will open his own design agency in New York and specialize in Streamline design (aerodynamic) which he will be the most utopian of representatives.Comparison between a Ford 1928 and a Bel Geddes 1928 !
In 1932 he wrote his Horizons treaty which will become the bible of a whole generation of designers.

It will create whole cities, cars, trucks, trains and planes, and almost nothing of his creations will be built. On the other hand, he will create many models which still exist today in museums.
He will leave this world in 1958, to 65 years.
