Route 6×6
We are in another world, the united states of America, California and look at things is different from the rest of the world, here's how Richard Clark sees things from his site Internet Route 6×6 I invite you to explore as it is rich in content.
6×6 was developed in the early 60 and quickly became popular in the United States and Canada. In 1970, there were nearly 60 6 vehicles production companies×6 amphibians. There was even a professional association dedicated to race 6×6 who handled many competitions around the country.
6×6 old was almost a decade and was firmly established as a popular vehicle for enthusiasts and professionals worldwide (sic). Sears Roebuck even sold his own model, earned its own classification, and even created the term ATV (all terran vehicle), 6×6 seemed to have a promising future in early 70.
Ensuite, three things have transformed the sector 6×6 : the Arab oil embargo that created the “energy crisis”, the introduction of a new vehicle 3 Honda wheels and the most important point was that many of these new companies were tempted to enjoy su system by creating and selling lower cost machines, poorly made and poorly motorized, and has given the industry a bad name.
Between 1975 and 1993, it has almost nothing in the past 6 industry×6. The four surviving firms, Ontario Drive & Gear, recreational Industries, ATTEX Hustler and continued to offer their vehicles, improve their equipment and introduce new models. ATTEX Hustler and eventually closed in the mid-eighties, Argo leaving Max and survivors of major players in the industry 6×6.
The sling 3 wheels announced a new generation of Quad ATV that has since dominated the industry over the last twenty years. Then from 1995, something interesting happened: Quad ATV sales seemed to peak and many people have begun to search nine other thing. A whole generation of people today have never seen June 1×6 and are fascinated by this "new" vehicle !
The future looks bright for 6×6. A new company in Canada called Triton has introduced a new 8×8 called the Predator. Hydrotrax is a new company that is doing well. Rumors say that the company acquired ATTEX with the intention of reintroducing the line 6×6. Meanwhile, Sales of Max and Argo are better than ever. Maybe we'll see the return of racing… and in fact there !
Route6x6 was created in the mid 1990 Jeff Baudin Califorine. Jeff started the site, the fact that there was nothing on the web about these vehicles. With the crisis, he dropped, Richard Clark then took over the site with the resumption of 6×6.
If there is an interesting chapter, it is the museum, with all existing models with pictures, to see here.
2 models caught my attention :
Argo disguised as a Sherman tank
and an ATV funny, fabrication “House” which is the origin of my research led me to the Route 6 site×6.
I also put some photos of 6 races×6.
overall, you find all kinds of standard gear, modified, weird…
