The remains of the R5 Turbo 6 Christian wheels Leotard (2/3)

On the occasion of the 400th article by Sixmania, I decided to do another article dedicated to Christian de Léotard, around an issue that works a lot of you.

I resume the last part of my article from R5 :

I do not know why, but the R5 Turbo was parked in a garage near Nevers around the year 2000.
In this garage, a molding of its bodywork had to be done to produce ten copies based on Clio Sport in 6 wheels.
Sadly, the car (and garage ?) burned in 2002. In November 2019, the car is always in the same place. Christian de Léotard unfortunately left us in 2014 and there will be nothing more for her… At the time, he told me that he was waiting for a reimbursement of the insurance following a complicated process with the owner of the garage and that he was going to rebuild it in the same way., he had also made an estimate for the reconstruction of the R5 6×6 in a body, which I am copying to you, click on the pictures.

Bad intentions

the Renault 5 turbo 6 burnt wheels has been in jeopardy for quite a while. Indeed, several malicious characters have discovered the garage in question. They broke into it, took lots of pictures. Some tried to resell the various vehicles inside the garage, whose R5 Leotard, whole or in parts. If you look at the photos, you will also see that many of the original rims have already disappeared… And someone tried to put on classic rims afterwards… To move it ?
The place has also become an Urbex spot, with regular visits. Nothing they found will be changed, this is the law of the Urbexeurs.
Quite personally I think it will be very difficult to restore this R5 Turbo 6×6 but I still think it’s a shame to let it rot there.
On the other hand, if the garage is to be redeveloped or destroyed, the R5 will be scrapped directly, I have no doubt about it. So I think we need to make a rescue operation of this ex-collector's item Christian de Léotard. About me, I have neither room, or the means to deal with it…

Orientations

On my personal choices or on those of Camille de Léotard (his son), we have referred several trusted people to try this rescue. All tried to do it through official channels, but for the moment no one has succeeded. I will not disclose a name, no information about it, even if we start to know a lot about it.

We know where the gray card of the R5 is, Christian had entrusted it to a person who was already going to pick up the car, but it was never done either. A priori the gray card therefore still exists.

Everything has to be done

This is where this story stands, we are now a lot of people to be aware of its location as evidenced by the few dozen photos that I put you here.
I will also keep the place secret, even if you already know it's close to Nevers…
I'm going to put photos of the garage from Google Earth.
Photo Google Earth. The following photos are the ones I collected mainly on Facebook, garage visitors. The blur and change of plates are not mine.

  1. The car should normally come to me, it became perfect with the other Renault 5 fit with its uniqueness. Too bad about the beautiful car.

  2. It would be good to exhibit it in a Museum as it is and to be able to tell your story through a giant screen in the background or through photos.

She is sad to see but she deserves her place.

  3. Lost, I would recommend rehabilitating it, even if it will take a lot of time and money. But we would do a very nice thumbs up at the **** homes which did not have respect for the work accomplished.
