Maria Del Camino : The flying Car – Bruce Tomb 2010
For the Burning Man 2010, Bruce Tomb dreamed of having a flying car. I will try to describe Bruce Tomb's satirical interpretation of Maria Del Camino. In literal translation, we would have Marie Du Chemin. But in reality it is Mary the Holy, and there are a number of churches on this planet called Maria Del Camino. I don’t know how it fell into Bruce’s ear, but he decided to build a flying car for himself, from a Chevrolet El Camino from 1959, the shortcut was easy !

After some thoughts, it will adapt the Camino on a hydraulic crawler excavator that can be operated manually from the bucket or remotely via a smartphone. His workshop is in Oakland, California.
Every year, Bruce strives to make a meaningful change in his abilities.
The first year, it was mounted on a crawler excavator and crawled 3 km/h. She made her debut at Burning Man in 2010. She is electric !
The second year, she was able to do gymnastics like standing upright and "flying" at 2,74 meters above the earth.
The third year, I don & rsquo; have not understood, a particular GPS has been installed.
The fourth year, it could be controlled with a smartphone.
Since, it was stored in a secret warehouse because Bruce Tomb went on to other artistic adventures.
With the help of many friends and over many years, it was drilled with tens of thousands of holes, making what was left of the body more ephemeral and creating a pixelated image of the fake Maria / Machine Man from the film Metropolis by Fritz Lang.
Pendant 4 years old she evolved in Burning man, from 2010 to 2013.
