Video 3, this amazing maneuverability in the water !

All that's great, but there, others have found that the DUKW was too old, so they preferred it :

Alvis Stalwart 6×4 and 6×6, either on the dashboard !

40 mph on land and 6 nodes in water, mode 6×6 is recommended. This vehicle dates back 60 and could have up 5 ton payload. In the years 80, diesel engine replaced the petrol version.

After some modifications, Here are the Austin Duck, in the city of Austin in Texas

Canadian Lady Duck

The Lady Duck was an amphibious vehicle designed to carry up 12 passengers for tours on land and water in the Canadian capital region, Ottawa and the Ottawa River. The vehicle was designed and built by its owner!, which was commissioned at the beginning of the tourist season in June 2001.

The vehicle is based on a truck chassis Ford F-350. The original gasoline engine is used to operate on roads. A semi-outboard Mercruiser gasoline was added to the back to propel the water.

The bottom of the frame is surrounded with welded and bolted steel, and the sides are extended upward to enclose a buoyant structure. The wheels and suspension of the truck are located outside the sealed shell. The width of the frame is increased by adding, on each side, Subwoofers (floats) partially filled with rigid foam plastic to enhance transverse stability and buoyancy and to regularize the plate on the water.

If we have as much detail, thanks to the accident report 23 June 2002, after the first round with minor problems, the second round is lethal to him 4 passengers, the Lady Duck did indeed sunk by 8 fathoms, before reaching a river rising point.

Our Belgian friends also have their still active version (Thank you to Claude 31/01/2007). Le Crocodile Rouge is the last cry way to explore the Lakes of Eau d'Heure. This incredible vehicle has the ability to travel on water as on land. You are invited to participate in an adventure, a journey which sends you into a wonderful world.
