Jerry Pennington has dedicated his life to making Customs as beautiful as possible with the goal of winning the Detroit Ridler Award as many times as possible, and he’s the only one who managed to win 2 time ! On his last participation he was only second.

Jerry’s passion is the Corvettes, he modified several, it is with them that he won his awards. He also designed a van from a Corvette.

For his last participation he created a hot-rod 6 wheels from a C-Cab's 1923, le Sidewinder, fitted with a Chevy engine 360, it has the 4 rear wheel drive and a wooden bucket.

He also designed the Corvette 6 wheels named “Mixer”, built to look like a concrete mixer truck. He lengthened the back to add an axis then he placed an aluminum canister resembling a concrete mixer !

Its two versions in 6 wheels are pretty wacky, but his other achievements are much more serious, I let you watch, sorry for the photobucket invading the american forums…

Founder of mm2 France, oto6, then from Sixmania. The 6 wheels and more have always been a passion for me. It started in 1980 thanks to a certain Christian de Léotard, you know ?

  1. Hey Marc! Wonderful article! Not many people pay attention to what was originally the Stroh’s Sidewinder pickup. Most people focus on the Ridler winners! Jerry was my grandfather, his youngest son, Greg, was my dad!
