Alain Rossignol – ARConcept
Short story : A while ago, on one of my old forum, came to register a person too discreet for my taste (!!), Alain Rossignol.
A creative designer d & rsquo; multi-wheel vehicles and cut must not remain in the & rsquo; shadow like this ! My very many activities of the & rsquo; time, m & rsquo; d & rsquo prevented; more on its journey. Fortunately, j & rsquo; had kept our correspondence and some pictures and aujourd & rsquo; hui, as I l & rsquo; had promised, Alain Rossignol now has a page creator in my website.

L’ALMAJO
After building a caravan and a boat, Alain Rossignol wanted to build a buggy bought in kit, it was the fashion in 1970, one of his friends has ordered a.
“- When I saw what he had received for a pretty penny, I decided to design one myself !
I chose mechanical and axles Renault 10 instead of Volkswagen (Editor's note : R10 ? My first car !). The chassis was original because the R10 did not. Wanting to avoid the construction of a mold, the body is made of plywood, laminated on both sides. This explains the angular shapes.”
Since Almajo was sold to a collector Breton.
Almajo entirely designed and built by Alain

THE TRAPANELLE
Alain bought a summer pasture barn at 1500m altitude in the Pyrenees. It is inaccessible for 4 winter months because of snow.
“So I undertook the study of a light vehicle and simple, to move in any terrain and snow : the Trapanelle. I was helped by a friend, Robert Oueillé, which had a mechanical workshop where I lived in Auch. The idea that this thing came from the USA by reading reviews describing this type of ATV fashionable there in 1975.”
Article 4×4 Magazine on Trapanelle
Since Trapanelle was sold to the company which took over LM SOVRA.
the Trapanelle
The motor is a Citroën A79 / 1 developing 21 hp 5OOO rev / min.
The box of speeds CITROËN, to 4 forward gears and one reverse, contains the differential and the two side outputs are each equipped & rsquo; a drum brake.
differential output axes drive the primary gear two gear units by the & rsquo; d & rsquo intermediate, elastic couplings fixed directly on the brake drums; the second sprockets are located on the axes of the central wheels.
These gearboxes allow d & rsquo; reverse the direction of rotation, d & rsquo; increase torque and d & rsquo; a safe connection between the brakes and central wheel.
The movement is transmitted to the other wheels by sprockets and roller chains.
SERVAU HD800.
Faced with problems of displacement in snowy or flooded areas EDF asked him to design and build a prototype commercial vehicle from the recognized qualities of the Trapanelle.
“With a friend, Alain Desbons, we created the company SERVAU (Company Study and realization of amphibious vehicles and utilities), located in Auch.
This machine was powered by a Renault diesel engine that caused 3 hydraulic pumps : two variable displacement pumps for moving and a fixed displacement pump for driving accessories. The variable displacement pumps fed each four engines, one in each wheel. management changes was through variation differential rate.”
This proto still belongs to EDF.
H800, a motor in each wheel
Alain m & rsquo; promised to the scanner & rsquo; study of this beautiful 8 wheels…

VAHL HA840.
After proto HD800, EDF asked to design another capable of carrying two officers and a load of 500kg (a transformer), on any land (flooded or snow) up to 3000m. In addition it had to be heli-treuillable (less of 1000 kg).
This proto still belongs to EDF.
VAHL HA840 Articulated, hydraulic transmission with a motor for each wheel torque, was built by the AMG company EDF.

VAHL
Very nice machine !
Version enclosed cab
in operation
Neortic we unearthed 3 images of VAHL such that & rsquo; it is aujourd & rsquo; hui (06/04/2008)
It would require a small restoration…

Today, Alain Rossignol spent his high altitude retreat and retype snowmobiles to allow it to move more easily months & rsquo; winters, the top of his Pyrenean barn !
I have friends who we h800
